But what I’ve realised is that the last few years of living in such a singular environment have taken a huge toll on my life and started affecting my health. My friends, what I consider to be my home, and my life are back in Silicon Valley, which is also much closer to my family. Seeing how much I’ve left behind these past few years, it is clear to me that the time has come to return.
Hugo Barra is leaving Xiaomi and heading to Silicon Valley
Hugo Barra, who worked as the Vice President of Product Management for Android at Google for five years joined Xiaomi in 2013. He moved to Beijing, China and took the role of the Vice President of International at the company. He is now apparently leaving the company behind. Hugo Barra announced that he is leaving Xiaomi and moving back to Silicon Valley, as he mentioned on Facebook.
He wrote that his time at Xiaomi was the greatest and most challenging adventure of his life. With his help, the company reached a new milestone in India, as its revenues in the country topped $1billion last year.
