Oppo teases world's first under display camera : Is this the future?

After the notch-so good trend of weird notch on the top of the phone - every company literally just went with the flow and added notch. Some were "okay" and some company went so far that they could compete "most ugliest phone" without a competition.(jokes on you Google). However, the trend was somehow silenced with the water drop notch which - at least is pleasing to watch and adds aesthetics to you device.

However, the companies were full of surprises and various ideas were pitched to increase the screen size and remove that "ugly" notch on the top of the smartphone. Vivo introduced the pop-up camera and it was somewhat of a sensation. Every major company are adapting the same convention -  with the latest OnePlus 7 Pro and also Xiaomi Redmi K20 Pro. These pop-up camera are a real deal because it provides you the all screen to body ratio. Oppo came with other crazy designs like "shark-fin" camera but it was just another hit at trends. Recently, there's another player with new design idea - Samsung Galaxy A80 and ASUS Zenfone 6.

However, Oppo seems to change the game completely itself and set a stone for new trend that will likely continue throughout the year.  Previously, Samsung was heard of working on similar technologies, however as it seems, Oppo will probably be the first company to implement the technology.

The new video posted by Oppo, showcases a smartphone with the working in-display front camera. The camera app launches the camera and the screen sizes reduces a little, making the area for the front camera to appear.

The video posted is short on and sure hints at what technology the company is working at. However, much details about the phone is yet to be witnessed. The image quality and feasibility of the camera is yet to de detailed.

Furthermore, the Chinese tech-giant Xiaomi is also reportedly working  on the same technology. Xiaomi has reportedly filed a patent for the in-display camera module, as hinted by an twitter account.
